Roaming Tips from Travel & Leisure ? TRAVEL INFORMATION ...

A recent column in the Travel & Leisure blog offered three suggestions on how to save on cell phone roaming costs when traveling abroad.

Tech Thursday advices:

  1. Purchase a roaming plan ? Verizon and ATT offer international calling and data plans with discounted rates.? Per minute charges still apply.
  2. Maximize Wi-Fi usage ? Activate the airplane mode and use free hot spots to connect to the internet.
  3. Buy local ? purchasing a simple phone with prepaid minutes at your destination can be far less expensive than using your US based plan.
